Why study Business Management?

Studying Business Management gives you the opportunity to develop important skills such as problem solving, communication, planning and organising. You will learn through real-life business contexts how organisations operate.

Computing science is vital to everyday life – on social, technological and economic levels. It shapes the world in which we live and its future. Computing is embedded in the world around us, from systems and devices in our homes to our places of work. It has also changed the way we learn, relax, travel and communicate.

Learning computing science will give you many benefits apart from learning about technology. You will learn valuable transferable work and life skills, such as being able to solve problems in a logical way, think creatively and handle information.

The skills you learn in this course are useful in lots of different job areas. These include science, communications, entertainment, education, business and industry.

Why study Administration and IT?

Administration is a growing sector which cuts across the entire economy and offers wide-ranging employment opportunities. Moreover, administrative and IT skills have extensive application not only in employment but also in other walks of life.

This course is designed to help you to understand and take part in the business and information environment. You will gain skills in managing information, organising, planning, problem solving and decision making.

The skills that you develop in Administration and IT are useful in many career areas such as office work, economics, human resource management, management services and public services administration.

All these subjects are offered to pupils at a National 4, National 5 and Higher level. With Business Management and Computing Science being offered at Advanced Higher.
