Megan McGowan (S1) was one of the prize winners in this year's Bang on Bard! poetry competition, entered by more than 500 Glasgow pupils. SPT's poet-in-residence John Rice (pictured here with some of the winners) had the hard task of choosing the three winners in each of the four age categories.

Megan came second in the 9-12 years group. John Rice said: "Congratulations to all our winners. Their work is outstanding and clearly demonstrates the high standard of literary talent present in our schools. It was incredibly difficult to whittle it down to just 12 winners but they are all thoroughly deserving of their prizes."
